Stanley Medical Research Institute (SMRI) NGS Data Repository

Stanley Medical Research Institute NGS Data Repository contains high-quality next-generation sequencing (NGS) data from multiple brain regions of the Stanley Brain Collection provided by the Stanley Brain Research Laboratory. The Stanley Brain Research Laboratory, part of The Stanley Medical Research Institute, is located in Rockville, Maryland. The Stanley Brain Collection is a widely used resource for researchers trying to find the causes of, and better treatments for, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression. By opening this repository to the research community, SMRI expects to promote research that will identify the molecular mechanisms underlying schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression, as well as identify biomarkers and drug targets for the diseases.

This repository is managed and operated by collaboration between SMRI and KAIST Bio-information System Laboratory (KAIST-BISL) lead by Prof. Doheon Lee. KAIST-BISL is one of the largest bioinformatics groups in South Korea and has collaborated with SMRI since 2010. KAIST-BISL provides and maintains the data repository system. The repository system consists of two components; this webpage and the download system. The webpage provides an introduction and demographic information of datasets. The secure FTP client software can be used to download SMRI NGS raw data files. Detailed manual for the download system can be found in 'How to Download' page.
